Barcelona and Cambrils attacks: ETUC solidarity and condolences
The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) condemns the terrorist attacks that took place on Thursday, 17 August, on La Rambla de Barcelona – one of the most popular and visited streets in Europe at this year time – and in Cambrils.
We express our solidarity to the victims and relatives, people of Barcelona and Spain as well as our Spanish trade union members.
The ETUC stands with all workers of security forces, transport, social and health services which have attended to the victims of these cruel attacks with professionalism and care.
Terrorism once again tries to sow terror in places where thousands of citizens and workers spend their holidays.
European trade unions express their support for Spain in these sad times. Today we all mourn those lost in the terrible attack in Barcelona and Cambrils.
Spanish ETUC affiliates call on all workers to gather today at midday at the entrance of their workplace and observe a minute of silence to express their solidarity with the victims as well as their commitment to peace, justice, tolerance, and democracy.
